ABSTRACT

Building structure’s vibration due to earthquake can be minimized by increasing value damper on the structure. One of the techniques by using dynamic damper. In the previous research has developed about dual dynamic vibration absorber, specifically mass-spring system and pendulum system. However, pendulum system is difficult to be applied in the real condition. Because there are limit on space for pendulum, building aesthetic and setting the value damper which difficult to achieve.This research is developed dynamic damper tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) which it’s replaced pendulum system. TLCD and mass-spring system are located at the top floor of  two level building. Effectiveness from this both damper are evaluated experimentally. The result obtained that the vibration one the structure can be reduced.
